Description

The Beach Lawn Chair Sand Debris Cleaner removes debris from chair rails while helping to protect hands and fingers. The cleaning assembly includes a cleaning component movably mounted along the length of the chair rails. The cleaning component surrounds the chair rail and follows the contour and imperfections of the rail to ensure all sand and debris are removed. The chair rail can be round, rectangular, square, or any other shape. After using the chair the user slides the movable debris cleaner from one end of the rail to the other end of the rail in a back and forth motion to remove sand and debris from the chair. The debris cleaner is placed on the bottom chair rails or on any of the rails where sand and debris may accumulate. The cleaning assembly can be permanently mounted on new chairs or added to and removed from existing chairs by any user.

Beach and lawn chairs have become part of the social fabric of society and they are used extensively. Many people use these chairs at the beach, parks, and other outdoor destinations. As the chairs are used they accumulate sand, dirt, and debris on the chair rails that are then deposited in automobiles and patio areas. The dirty automobiles and patio areas need to be cleaned and often this is very difficult as multiple deposits are made before action is taken to clean an area. Further cleaning sand from an automobile that stores the dirty chairs is very difficult.

Ideally a dirty chair would be cleaned at the source using water, however water is not always available by the time someone leaves a beach or park and is making their way back to their automobile or living area. An alternative is for someone to use their hands to clean the debris off a chair. The problem is that the user hands get dirty and the effort is time consuming as multiple passes are made with the hands to remove sand and debris. To address these problems the Beach Lawn Chair Sand Debris Cleaner is used to clean sand and debris off the chairs.

The global Beach Chair Market size in 2021 was over $200 Million US dollars.

Unmet Need

Beach and lawn chairs accumulate sand, dirt, and debris on the chair rails that are then deposited in automobiles and patio areas. The dirty automobiles and patio areas need to be cleaned and often this is very difficult as multiple deposits are made before action is taken to clean an area. Further cleaning sand from an automobile that stores the dirty chairs is very difficult. There is a need to be able to quickly, efficiently, and safely clean sand, dirt, and debris off chairs without remembering to bring separate cleaning tools.

Novelty

The cleaning mechanism is integrated with the chair. It will not get lost or forgotten.

Value Proposition

Removes debris from chair rails at the source while helping to protect hands and fingers. Dirty automobiles and patio areas do not need to be cleaned; often this is very difficult as multiple deposits are made before action is taken to clean an area. Further cleaning sand from an automobile that stores the dirty chairs is very difficult. Cleaning is part of folding the chair at the site where the sand and debris accumulates. There is no need to search for cleaning tools like tissues, towels, brushes.

When added during manufacturing this is a chair option to allow for upcharge and market differentiation to expand market access. When made available as a separate product for existing chairs it is an additional revenue stream.
